Nicky Hunt started his career with Bolton Wanderers, making his senior debut in May 2001. He made over 150 appearances for the Trotters (of which almost all were while Bolton were a Premier League side) during a nine years at the club.
However in his last two years with Bolton Hunt was loaned out to Birmingham City and Derby County.
In July 2010 Nicky signed for Bristol City but he managed just eight appearances for the Robins. His contract was cancelled in January 2012.
In February 2012 Hunt moved to Preston North End and he made 17 appearances but he was released at the end of the season.
Rotherham United signed him ahead of the 2012/13 season but he suffered a hamstring injury during pre-season and as a result he was restricted to nine appearances during the first half of the campaign.
Hunt spent the second half of the season on loan at Accrington Stanley and he later joined the club on a permanent basis in June 2013 after his contract with the Millers expired. He played 71 games with Stanley during two-and-a-half seasons before leaving last summer.
Nicky joined Mansfield Town in June 2015 and he has played 21 games so far this season.
Hunt has also been capped by England at youth level, having won 9 caps for the Under-21s.
