Carlisle are currently in 11th place in League Two, however they are just three points behind the O’s and they have two games in hand over Kevin Nolan’s men.
Keith Curle’s side were victorious when they travelled to the Globe Arena on Saturday. The Cumbrians had to come from behind as Kevin Ellison put Morecambe ahead just before the half-hour mark. Carlisle managed two goals inside the last ten minutes to snatch all three points. First Charlie Wyke equalised from the penalty spot after he had been brought down in the box, then Derek Asamoah grabbed the winner six minutes from time.

Team News
Keith Curle will have goalkeeper Mark Gillespie available to him again after he served his one-match suspension at the weekend. Gillespie was sent off in the match against AFC Wimbledon last month.
However, Brandon Comley looks set to miss out against the O’s after he sustained an ankle injury against Morecambe.
Ex O’s
Orient youth graduate Jabo Ibehre broke into the first team at the age of 17 in March 2000. Over the next 8 years he made 243 appearances for the O’s scoring 41 goals. He joined Carlisle in June 2015.
Carlisle’s assistant manager Colin West played over 200 games for the O’s between 1993 and 1998.
Leyton Orient
On Saturday Orient overcame a lackluster Crawley Town side thanks to a brace from Armand Gnanduillet.
The O’s forced a number of corners during the first half which saw the hosts employ some new routines, but those corners did not lead to the opening goal. The deadlock was broken by a moment of magic from Armand Gnanduillet shortly before the interval. The striker controlled the ball outside the box, held off his marker and unleashed a shot on the turn that flew into the top corner of the Crawley net.
After the break the O’s looked better going forward as Kevin Nolan, Jay Simpson and Armand Gnanduillet all had very good opportunities to double Orient’s lead. The O’s eventually killed the game off with a second goal twenty minutes from time. Sean Clohessy crossed to the far post from the right flank and Gnanduillet was on hand to fire the ball past Paul Jones.
Kevin Nolan has now claimed five wins from his seven games in charge and all of those victories have seen the O’s keep clean sheets. Only Northampton Town have shown better form in League Two over the last six games.
Team News
Jobi McAnuff missed Saturday’s game due to the ankle injury that he picked up in training last week. He remains an injury concern for the visit to Brunton Park and his fitness will be assessed ahead of kick-off.
Lloyd James is approaching a return to action as he is now back in training following a spell on the sidelines with an Achilles problem.
Paul McCallum and Dean Cox are also progressing well in their recoveries from their long-term knee ligament injuries.
Kevin Nolan has suggested that he will make changes to keep the team fresh as they face a three-game week.
That could mean opportunities for the likes of Ollie Palmer, Jack Payne, Frazer Shaw and Calaum Jahraldo-Martin to regain places in the starting line-up.
When the two sides met earlier in the season at Brisbane Road the O’s lost by two goals to one. Derek Asamoah put the visitors ahead just after the hour mark but the O’s quickly equalised through Mathieu Baudry. However. Antony Sweeney sealed the win for the Cumbrians with just under 20 minutes remaining.
Orient’s last trip to Brunton Park was on the first day of the 2013/14 season. The O’s kicked off their League One campaign with a 1-5 win and that sparked a 12 game unbeaten run. Lisbie opened his and Orient’s goalscoring account for the season after 22 minutes when he headed in a long throw from Nathan Clarke. Carlisle were then reduced to ten men after Lee Miller hurled the Orient captain to the ground on the edge of the pitch. Clarke landed heavily and he was taken to hospital. Scott Cuthbert doubled Orient’s lead by heading in a corner, but just before the break David Amoo scored from the spot following Mathieu Baudry’s handball. Mooney added a third with twenty minutes left and Dean Cox came off the bench to grab a brace and complete the rout with two fine finishes.
Carlisle’s last home win over the O’s was in January 2012. Francois Zoko scored almost immediately from kick off. Matty Robson and Tom Taiwo then found the net to put the home side 3-0 up at halftime. James Berrett ensured that Orient would have a miserable journey home as he added a fourth to Carlisle’s tally. However, in the latter stages of the game Jamie Cureton managed to score what would prove to be his only goal in an Orient shirt.
