Leyton Orient have announced a number of changes to Andy Hessenthaler’s backroom staff ahead of the 2016/17 season.
Fitness coach Craig Smith has left the club. He joined the club last summer as part of Ian Hendon’s staff but he has now joined fellow League Two side Stevenage.
The O’s have already appointed a new fitness coach, recruiting Simone Lucchesi. Lucchesi brings much experience and has worked for reputable clubs such as Sampdoria, Lecce and Lazio as well as the New York Cosmos.
Orient have also appointed Andy Edwards as Andy Hessenthaler’s assistant. Edwards was Academy Director but he had already been more involved with the first team after Kevin Nolan’s demotion from his managerial position. The 44 year-old joined the O’s in 2009.
